Obama's Done

I've said this before, I was an Edwards supporter. When Edwards got out of the race, I was categorically neutral. I liked Hillary and Obama was certainly an amazing figure to watch. Unfortunately due to the nature the Clintons have run their campaign it pushed me, more than anything, to Obama.

Obama is, in my opinion, officially dead. He weathered the first Rev. Wright scandal, but now that Wright is speaking on and on, I personally do not think he can recover. Obama was certainly naive to think that the right wing and the Clinton campaign would not pounce on this. In fact, I think he could be vulnerable on his senate seat in 2012 if he does not get back to work and do some damage control.

The American political machine is near impossible to take on. The Republicans are so myopic and focused on their own message that they will get what they want. The Dems do not know how to coalesce around someone and, instead are committing fratricide.

To me, it is very clear that Obama is toast. Prior to today, I thought he could rise above it. Even his brushing off these stories he is lambasted. In true tragic fashion, the media built him up beyond what he was and now are laughing as he falls. Perhaps I will prove mistaken, but Obama is so damaged now that I personally do not want him as the standard bearer. I have many many misgivings about Hillary, but I do know that her tenacity will see her through. You cannot be nice to Republicans

Long time gone...

I have probably used this title before but its appropriate. I have had lots to blog about but just have not really felt like blogging I suppose. I am working hard and still trying to determine what is best for me in the future. I am still concerned about my physical well-being and attempting to find a vocation that will be compatible with that central goal.

Law is going to come to an end. Its not a question of "if" but rather "when." I love my legal education and believe that I have a strong aptitude in the law. However, it takes far more than knowledge to be a good attorney. In fact, knowledge is really secondary in many cases. I know that I am not a trial attorney. It just does not suit my temperament. Perhaps an appellate brief writer? Who knows.

Blogs

  • Leftsetz Letter
In my humble opinion, the best music commentary blog I have read. Strong opinions by a guy who is intimately familiar with the industry.
  • The Huffington Post
Arrianna Huffington breaks from long-term Salon to create a worth challenger to Drudge.
  • Andrew Sullivan
I appreciate Sullivan as he is all over the map politically. Although, at times, he can be dogmatic.
  • Venture Capitalist Guy
My favorite Blog. I read it first thing everyday! Very eclectic mixture of technology, music and business.
